The grant is available for those over 18 and under 65, who are currently unemployed and not receiving money from other funds like the UIF or NSFAS.
The system for applying via whatsapp has been in testing for more than 2 weeks and the public have been waiting to hear when it will finally be open for applications. It have now been announced that it will be open for applications on Monday the 11th of May.
Payments for the grant were promised to be made on the 15th of May.
