The SDSU academic calendar is a semester-based system consisting of Fall, Spring and Summer, which are usually 14 – 16 weeks long. See below, the academic calendar for sessional dates in 2024/2025 and 2024/2025 academic year.

- During the holiday—Winter recess—faculty/staff are on holiday, and the campus is closed from December 21-26, 2023.
- On New Year’s Day, a faculty/staff holiday, the campus is closed on January 1, 2024.
- The maximum undergraduate registration units for spring 2024 increased from 18 units to 21 units on January 10, 2024. Students requesting to enroll in more than 21 units must receive approval from their academic advisor, according to SDSU academic calendar 2023-2024.
- Basic tuition and fees, non-resident tuition, and professional programs fees are due for the spring 2023 semester on January 12, 2024.
- On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a faculty/staff holiday, the campus is closed on January 15, 2024.
- The first day of spring semester 2024 is January 16, 2024.
