  1. h(x) = (½)x 
    ∴ h(–4) = (½)-4 (2–1)–4 = 24 = 16
    So when x = –4, y = 16 and the point (–4; 16) lies on the graph of the function 3h. (3)
  2. g(x) = –x2 – 3x
    ∴g(x + h) = –(x + h)2 –3(x + h) wherever there is an x, replace it with (x + h)
    = –(x2 + 2xh + h2) – 3x – 3h
    = –x2 – 2xh – h2 – 3x – 3h
    This means that when x = x + h, y = –x2 – 2xh – h2 – 3x – 3h (2)
