A National Senior Certificate, locally known as a Matric or a grade 12, is obtained once a Matriculant completes all there necessary years of schooling. A Matriculant is a student who is in their final year of schooling. Matriculants will participate in a final end of year Matric Exam.

Their Matric Results are determined on how good or bad they do on their Matric Exams. Matric Result Calculations are done like this, a 25% school work mark combined with the 75% Matric End Of Year Examination Mark. Matric Results Release Date is usually the following year in January.

Here Is The 2024 Matric Results Release Schedule
19 January 2025 – Minister to announce the results of the Class of 2024
20 January 2025 – Statement of results available at exam centres/schools
3 February 2025 – Last day to apply for remarking/rechecking of examination scripts
8 February 2025 – Last day to register for the 2025 May/June examinations
15 March 2025 – Last day to register for the 2025 October/November examinations

Students can access their results by entering their school name or examination number on the publisher’s matric portal. The portal also provides context on matric pass rates over the last five years.

- Enter your Matric Examination Number in the required field
- Select your exam type, either NSC or IEB.
- Click on the ‘Search‘ button to access your Matric 2024 Results

Matric partial results will be released on the DBE website on Friday, 19 January 2025.
Learners must navigate to the DBE website and provide their details, including their ID number, exam number, and email address.
